The government had issued a notification to recruit 1,172 village
revenue officers and 6,063 village revenue assistants post across the
state and the written test was conducted on February 19, 2012. Mr K.
Ravinder, president of the reservations protection struggle organisation
filed the writ urging the court to to set aside the proceedings
initiated by the CCLA to appoint VRAs and to declare the notification as
illegal.
